Seven Flowers That Can’t Survive in This Soil

Glacier Lily
——breath itself going bad. everything is out
of season; but growing still always grow and sell.

Common Primrose
——gold a flake stand-in, we'll give you
a little. we'll take it back and more you're welcome.

Evening Primrose
——big leaves, no fruits. no seeds. no you must not sleep
under these. no nuts. no nothing. sprout not near me.

White Camellia
——Pure is the strangest thing in the meadow, walls shoot up
and bloom then harden. death in the shadow wanting sun.

Blue Gentian
——live in the wind, get crooked. insecure, get protected.
Get alone and forget the earth.

Angel’s Trumpet
——you shall not be tended to. it would be easy, but
we won't.

Scarlet Pimpernel
——each life has once been light enough to blow on a breeze,
float across the rows and they must be punished.
