Scott Holzman – Artist CV

Bio

Scott Holzman is a writer, facilitator, and creative practitioner working at the intersection of art, dialogue, and community. He lives in Easthampton, Massachusetts, where he makes poems, performances, and participatory installations. He leads the Poetic Facilitation program at dpict and formerly ran Chase Public, a collaborative space for art and assembly in Cincinnati. His work invites audiences into creative acts of reflection and connection.

Short Order Poetry

A pop-up poetry experience where poets use vintage typewriters to create personalized poems for attendees at festivals, events, and convenings. Each poem is written on the spot based on a short conversation.

Independent Projects

  • A Piece You Can’t Play at Home
    A graphic score-performance piece using satellite maps to instruct performers to interpret the emotional terrain between their home and the venue.
  • 5G Gallery
    A guerrilla gallery on a barbed-wire fence behind a Cincinnati coffee shop, where people added anonymous art and found objects over time. An experiment in reclaiming hostile urban infrastructure for shared creative play.
  • Experiments for the Living
    A visual series prompting tangible or poetic experiments—part science, part absurdity, all participatory.
  • The Response Project
    A recurring program inviting artists and writers to respond to a shared source text or artwork, revealing layered dialogue through their diverse takes.
