Remember when you had that phase where you watched that guy on TikTok eat lunch alone in his car every day?

Alex:
Yeah. @noonpanini was chill. Ate the same sandwich, always signed off with “another day, another bite.” I still say that to myself sometimes. I miss that guy.

Doug:
Did he, like, disappear?

Alex:
Stopped posting mid-January. No explanation. People from chat were like, “Hope you're okay, man,” and then just... moved on.

Doug:
I'm sorry for your loss.

Alex:
It’s not even him, really. It’s the rhythm. I missed the shape of him in my day.

Doug:
He didn’t know you existed.

Alex:
Right, but I still adjusted my lunchtime to match his. That has to count for something.

Doug:
Probably just means you were lonely.

Alex:
Sure. But he was too. That’s what made it feel fair.
